- Description
- The TAG Realtime Media Platform is transforming how broadcasters and media companies manage quality, visibility, and efficiency across their operations, unifying probing, monitoring, visualization, and analysis into one agile software platform.
An industry first, it’s a 100% software-based solution running on COTS and cloud, structured to optimize performance at any scale and adapt as business needs evolve. The Platform enables operators to monitor and analyze video, audio, and metadata across all IP workflows. It delivers deep probing, real-time decryption, smart recording, advanced analysis, and ultra-low-latency visualization, providing users with the insight needed to build performant, resilient, data-driven media systems.
At its foundation is TAG’s Multi Channel Monitoring (MCM), a real-time decryption, probing, integrated monitoring, and visualization engine that inspects live and recorded feeds, including video, audio, and metadata. It generates instant alarms, enabling engineers to identify and resolve issues quickly. Supporting hundreds of sources, MCM handles every signal type and transport method, from ST 2110 and ST 2022-6 to HLS, DASH, SRT, and Zixi, with continuous updates to stay ahead of emerging standards.
The Media Control System (MCS) forms the second layer, a centralized management and orchestration system that allows users to control and configure monitoring operations at any scale, driving multiple MCM instances from a single access point. MCS aggregates and exposes data through open APIs to many third-party visualization and analytic tools, including Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, and DataMiner, providing actionable operational and business insights.
Completing the architecture, the Insight Layer enables TAG data to be processed through machine-learning and data-visualization engines to detect patterns, troubleshoot, and optimize performance using Redis-based structures. This transforms raw monitoring data into real-time intelligence for operational optimization and decision-making.
Recent advancements make the Platform even more powerful:
• Waveform Scopes in QC Station – Visualize luminance, chrominance, and HDR levels directly within live mosaics using waveforms, histograms, and vectorscopes for precise color and compliance monitoring.
• Enhanced Operator Console – A hands-on control interface that allows operators to adjust layouts, isolate channels, and perform full video playback or audio soloing for immediate troubleshooting.
• Lens (Beta) – An intelligent visualization feature that groups sources by geo-location or network topology, helping users instantly identify whether an issue is isolated or widespread, reducing mean time to recovery.
• Expanded Cloud and HDR Support – Now extended to Oracle, Tencent, and Alibaba Cloud environments, alongside deeper HDR/SDR analysis for real-time validation of high dynamic-range content.
Another element that sets TAG apart is its Zero Friction® Licensing model, designed to maximize management flexibility and asset utilization. Each TAG license includes full platform functionality and can be dynamically shared across workflows, functionalities, and locations, fitting both CAPEX and OPEX business models.
Ultimately, the result is a unified, future-ready platform that merges quality control and operational visibility, empowering broadcasters and service providers to deliver exceptional video quality, accelerate response times, and simplify even the most complex IP workflows, all while maintaining the agility to evolve with tomorrow’s demands.
